Special service to commemorate Armed Forces Day and WW1

St Bartholomew's Church is holding a special service this month to mark the beginning of World War I and Armed Forces Day.

The combined service on Saturday 28th June, starting at 3pm, will be conducted by Rev. Magdalene Smith and Rev. John Lees. Amongst the attendees will be the Mayor of Cheshire East Council, Wilmslow Guides and Wilmslow Air Cadets, two of whom will deliver the readings.

Khumi Burton, a member of the Wilmslow Royal British Legion Branch is organising this special occasion.

She said "This Service does not have any boundaries – it is for everyone who wants to show respect for those who died for us in the 1st World War and also in all subsequent Wars that followed."

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Tea and coffee with cake will be served at the end of the service.
