A man from Wilmslow is one of four to be arrested for involvement in the large scale supply of Class A drugs.
Tariq Kaliq (43) of Wilmslow, along with Imran Malik (38), Gameal Adawee (44) and Alan Holding (47), all from Warrington, were arrested between April 19th and May 6th after 10kg of heroin with a street value of approximately one million pounds was recovered during a joint police operation.
All four men have been charged with various drugs offences, including conspiracy to supply and possession with intent to supply controlled drugs and are awaiting trial. They are due to appear at Chester Crown Court on May 19th 2014.
Operation Komodo was a pro-active investigation into the supply of Class A drugs jointly carried out by Cheshire Constabulary's Force Crime Operations Unit, West Midlands Police and the National Crime Agency.
Detective Inspector Peter Case of Cheshire Police Force Crime Operations Unit said: "This investigation focused on stemming the supply of Heroin into the North West. This operation builds on the successes we have had working with our partners and other law enforcement agencies to have a significant impact on those who seek to profit from drugs supply.
"The supply of illegal drugs spreads misery across our towns and is harmful to whole communities.
