A 19 year-old student was crowned Miss Wilmslow 2014 at Stockport Plaza on Thursday, 24th April.
Rio Kyla Tuli from Wilmslow is currently studying Law, English Language and Sociology at Stockport College and has accepted a place to study International Business at The University of Westminster in September.
She will now go through to the Miss England semi finals on May 19th and become the first Wilmslow entrant in the official Miss England competition since 1989.
Rio told wilmslow.co.uk "I decided to enter as my family and friends encouraged me, I've done modeling previously but this was my first pageant so I thought I'd give it a go as it would be a fun experience.
"Little did I know it would be such a success for me! I'm most looking forward to beginning my modelling contract with Vanita Model Management and excited for all the opportunities presented to me in the coming year as Miss Wilmslow."
Organiser Paul Taylor said "The competition is very different from that of the 1980s, today is all about empowering young ladies, building confidence and the charity 'Beauty with a purpose'.
"It was an exceptional evening and we now look forward to taking Rio (along with Jade Leverton who was crowned Miss Stockport) to the Miss England Semi Finals."
Runner up in the Miss Wilmslow competition was Carly McIlroy with Courtney McWilliam announced as the second runner up.
