Dead man found after car fire

The body of a man has been found in a burning car this morning.

Police were called to a car fire in a layby outside the Deanswater Hotel on Wilmslow Road at 9.38am on Tuesday 20th August.

Firefighters used two hose reels to extinguish the fire, once the fire was out the body of an adult was discovered inside the silver Vauxhall Corsa.

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 187 of 20 August 2013.

Updated: Wednesday 21st August, 9.27am: Police are treating the death as unexplained and a Home Office Post Mortem will take place today.

Andrew - I spoke with the police yesterday. The identity of the man has not yet been released. It was confirmed that there are not believed to have been any suspicious circumstances.
