Hundreds of local children have the day off school as their teachers take part in today's public sector strike.
More than half the countries schools are believed to be closed today as up to two million public sector workers strike over pensions in what is expected to be one of the biggest walkouts in decades.

- Ashdene Primary School: Partially closed, three classes are in.
- Alderley Edge Community Primary School: Five out of seven classes closed.
- Dean Oaks Primary: Closed.
- Gorsey Bank Primary: Open.
- Lindow Community Primary: Partially closed, year three are in.
- Nether Alderley Primary: Closed.
- Styal Primary: Partially closed, one class closed all day, one class closed in the morning only.
- St Anne's Fulshaw, Church of England Primary: Open.
- St Benedict's Catholic Primary: Closed.
- Wilmslow Grange Community Primary: Closed.
- Wilmslow High: Closed.
Cheshire Police is continuing to provide essential services during the industrial action - urging the public to assist by only dialling 999 in an emergency, and to use the new non emergency number 101 wisely.
Very limited bin collections are being made today as a result of the public sector strike so residents are advised to take their bins back to their properties if they are not emptied. Waste from the missed collections will be collected on December 14th, the next collection date for those rounds that have been missed today.
Cheshire East Council has dedicated teams on standby today, so anyone worried about an adult or a child who needs help during the strike, should contact Cheshire East on the following numbers:

Special arrangements have been made at Wilmslow Christmas Festival today. Imagine FM will be broadcasting live from the market from 2pm to 5pm, there will be lots of discounts, vouchers and live performers, and the ice-rink and Santa's Grotto will both be open all day.
