Wilmslow High School's Year 7 footballers rounded off a fantastic season by lifting the Macclesfield and District Schools Cup with a convincing 6-1 win against Tytherington School.
Wilmslow dominated the game and were the deserved winners, with goals from Nick Brown, Will Middleton and two each for Miles Fenton and Alex Jackson.
Team captain Jake Turner said "It was a pleasure to captain the team this year and it was nice to win some silverware, after the disappointment of losing the national semi-final last week, and it was a very proud moment for me to lift the cup for my school."
The boys have had an unprecedented season. They are also District and Cheshire 5-a-side champions and Manchester Grammar tournament winners, which is a very competitive event involving 16 of the top footballing schools from the Greater Manchester area.
To reach the last four of a national cup was also a significant achievement for the boys and the furthest a junior side has progressed in the ESFA Cup.
Team Coach Simon Mawer said "This has been a fantastic season for the U12's and they have shown huge commitment and dedication. They have worked so hard and deserve their success and indicates a bright future as they progress though the school years."
