The Wilmslow branch of The Guide Dog’s for the Blind Association would just like to say a huge thankyou to everyone who contributed to our collection at Handforth Dean this weekend.
We raised over £1800. A massive thankyou to everyone involved.
The Guide Dog Association runs totally on voluntary contributions from the public and an army of volunteers. Myself and another lady are both puppy walkers for Guide Dog's and saw the opportunity to raise more funds in this area by setting up a local Guide Dogs fundraising branch last year.
We have been putting a lot of collection boxes around Wilmslow and holding collections at various venues throughout the area. It costs a lot of money to feed and train the dogs, then there's the vet's bills. In fact, by the time they retire each guide dog will have cost about £48,000.
