A 22 year old male subcontracted as a bricklayer was killed after an accident at a domestic building site on Torkington Road in Wilmslow.
Police and emergency were called to the building site just after 2.45pm on Friday afternoon, 7th January, following a report of an industrial incident.
The man, from the Newcastle Under Lyme area, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Wythenshawe Hospital where he sadly later died as a result of his injuries.
Sergeant Andy Miller, who attended the incident, said "The male was working on site when a pallet of bricks collapsed on top of him causing fatal injuries.
"The matter is now being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive with the assistance of Wilmslow CID."
A file will be prepared for HM Coroner.
