A Handforth man received slight burns to one hand when his cooker caught fire on New Year's Day.
One fire crew from Wilmslow and a second from Cheadle arrived at the property on Stretton Way, Handforth to discover a fire involving an unattended grill pan that was out on arrival.
The crew administered casualty care to the man's hand prior to the arrival of the ambulance service. A Home Safety Assessment had previously been carried out at the property where smoke alarms were fitted and activated.
