A Wilmslow family are to enjoy a magical performance of Aladdin as a thank-you for giving their views on improving childcare.

Kimberley Foster, her partner Gary Chandler and their children Charlotte, 11, and 6 year old Oscar are the lucky winners of a prize draw for a family ticket to see the Christmas panto at Crewe's Lyceum Theatre.

Kimberley was entered into the draw after completing a childcare questionnaire on the Cheshire East Council website. The confidential survey gathered the views of parents and carers who access care through nurseries, pre-schools, childminders, out-of-school clubs and holiday play schemes. It was carried out by the childcare sufficiency team in order to inform future planning around the need for childcare in Cheshire East.

Kimberley said: "Gary and I were really surprised to win the tickets – we've never won anything before. We're really looking forward to the panto and enjoying a special night out with Charlotte and Oscar."

Councillor Hilda Gaddum, Cabinet member with responsibility for children and families, said: "I would like to thank Kimberley and everyone else who took the time to give us their thoughts on childcare in Cheshire East. This is important research which will help us to ensure that future provision meets the needs of parents, carers and children, supporting our commitment to improving life opportunities for everyone in Cheshire East.

"My congratulations go to Kimberley and I hope that she and her family have a wonderful time at the panto."

The survey findings will be published by April next year, as part of the Council's childcare sufficiency assessment.
