Wilmslow has marked Remembrance Day this morning with a parade and a church service in honour of those who have died in conflicts.
Organised by the British Legion the parade departed from the British Legion Club on Grove Avenue at 9.30am. Led by the Alderley District Scout Band, local councillors, army cadets, air cadets, scouts, cubs, beavers, guides, brownies and rainbows all marched through the town centre to St Bartholomew's Church for the service at 10am.
Following the remembrance service, a two minute silence and wreath laying ceremony was held at the War Memorial on Chancel Lane.
Following another year of heavy British casualties in Afghanistan, the British Legion has sold a record 46 million poppies this year.
