Following an incident in Wilmslow this morning, Cheshire Police are advising residents wishing to make charitable donations to take them to a local charity shop.
This morning a male left bags outside his house, in the Wingfield Avenue area of Wilmslow, for the British Heart Foundation to collect.
However, prior to the official van arriving another large white van came along and collected the bags from outside his property. This van had a female passenger on board who was described as Eastern European and wearing a yellow baseball cap.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said "With this type of theft occurring more and more I can only suggest that if you wish to give clothes and bric a brac to charity you take the items to the nearest charity shop of your choice."
