In Bloom volunteers help children add splash of colour to school entrance

Lindow Community Primary School

The Wilmslow in Bloom team visited Lindow Community Primary School recently to help plant the two planters at the front of the school.

Sue Worthington said "The caretaker had worked hard with the preparing them so we were happy to help with providing the flowers. We chose Salvias, trailing fuchsia's, Million Bells, geraniums, cosmos and lobelias.

"We were teaching the children how to dig, place the flowers far enough apart and about deadheading to prolong flowering."

Acting Head Mrs Kiely said. "We would like to thank Wilmslow in Bloom for their generous donation of beautiful flowers for the front of our school. The children had a wonderful time helping and wetruly appreciate the time, effort and community spirit behind this kind gesture."

Teacher of the deaf Mrs Sharon Brown said "It is so valuable for the deaf children to be involved in outdoor projects that enhance and develop their language and communication skills. If anybody would like moreinformation about the purpose built Hearing Impairment department at Lindow School please contact Sharon Brown at [email protected]."
