Cheshire East Council has banned the use of barbecues in the borough's parks and open spaces.

Councillor Mick Warren, chair of Cheshire East Council's environment and communities committee, said: "The council made a decision recently to ban the use of barbecues in its parks and open spaces.

"The use of barbecues can have a negative reaction to the environment. They can also have health and safety implications for other users of our parks, particularly small children and animals."
