Wilmslow Town Council have organised and funded five free family weekday events in Wilmslow's Neighborhood Parks this August.
The theme is 'Teddy Bears' Picnic' and all children are invited to their local event with their teddy, a picnic blanket, picnic and, of course, a parent/guardian.
Each local Teddy Bears' Picnic will take place in a different local park around Wilmslow so that most families will be able to walk to their local event over the two-week period. The events will provide free family fun from 11am until 3pm each day – to supplement the playground entertainment – and include games, a Children's Craft Workshop, and an inflatable (weather permitting).
Picnics will take place on the following dates from 11am until 3pm:
- Thursday 15th August – The Pleasure (South Oak Lane)
- Friday 16th August – Howty Close Play area
- Tuesday 20th August – Little Lindow (Altrincham Road)
- Wednesday 21st August – Lacey Green Park
- Thursday 22nd August – Brown's Lane Park
Wilmslow Town Mayor, Councillor Tim Higgins, said, "We are excited to be able to provide a free family activity during the summer holidays, giving the local neighbourhood communities a chance to get together and enjoy a little family fun and fresh air in one of Wilmslow's green spaces.
"Grab your picnics, picnic rugs and favourite teddy and just turn up and enjoy the day!"
