Wilmslow In Bloom strikes Gold again

2022 group awards 1

The hard work by the volunteer groups in Wilmslow was judged worthy of a gold award by the RHS for the eighth consecutive year. To add to this, the team was awarded the Crystal Trophy for Community Effort.

Wilmslow In Bloom was also awarded this trophy in 2015 and the achievement of the team is engraved on the silver label on the plinth.

Sue Worthington, Chair of Wilmslow In Bloom said "The award of this trophy is recognition not only of the hard work of the various volunteer groups around the town but and perhaps more importantly, recognition of the value of that work.

"For example, the focus of the gardening projects at the Temp and Oakenclough is to teach the skills required to grow fruit and vegetables successfully. The produce is used either in the café at Oakenclough or is taken home by the volunteer gardeners."

These awards add to the eight won by Wilmslow Neighbourhood groups last month.

All groups welcome new volunteers at any time of year. If you would like to volunteer please contact [email protected].
