This year, for obvious reasons, organisers are unable to hold their annual sponsored walk for East Cheshire Hospice – Beating the Bounds.

Instead local residents are being urged to get some fresh air and enjoy the scenery whilst raising money for the local hospice.

Ned Spencer, who set up the Wilmslow Support Group of East Cheshire Hospice and organises the Beating the Bounds event said "It is great that people are responding to the current crisis by fund raising for charities. But let's not forget our local hospice that needs our support "now more than ever."

His idea is for people to go out for a walk and make a donation to ECH and/or raise some sponsorship. If you would like to take part he is suggesting people all try to do their walk in the first two weeks of May.

Ned added "Please send me an email to let me know you're doing it so I can keep you updated on our progress

"The 15 mile Beating the Bounds route covers the Wilmslow Parish Boundary – maybe you could walk some of this route?

"I can help you with ideas for walks – just let me know roughly where you live and how far you'd like to walk."

Ned has set up a Just Giving page for people make their donation and also upload a story about their walk along with photographs.
