Raza wins Thai Boxing title at World Championships

Wilmslow High student Raza Naqvi qualified to compete with the GB squad at the WTKA Unified World Championships in Italy last week.

Thirty-six international federations with over 5000 competitors from 86 countries entered the event which is the biggest Martial Arts Amateur event in the World.

Raza, in Year 7, had entered two forms of martial arts - Muay Thai and K1 Boxing. Over 5 days he fought against competitor's from various countries to win a place in the finals and medals in both categories

He triumphed in Muay Thai to be crowned WTKA Unified World Champion and took silver in K1 Boxing.
