Sixth form students at Wilmslow High School are celebrating another set of impressive A level results today, 55.3% of which were A* to B grades.
Overall 27% of the results were graded A* and A and 9.2% were A*. In total 38 students achieved the equivalent of 3 A grades or above in their A levels or BTECs and 20% of A level students achieved AAB or higher.
Headteacher, Dr James Pulle, commented: "With the national media this year reporting uncertainty in the awarding of this first set of A-Level grades in the 13 reformed subjects, we are delighted that the students of Wilmslow High School have achieved at such high levels continuing a four-year trend of improvement in the school's headline figures.
"This collective success is formed by the hard work and commitment of every individual involved, and I would like to pass on my thanks and congratulations to all of our students who richly deserve the rewards they have achieved."
Dr James Pulle added "This cohort of students have also maintained the school's commitment to the Wider Curriculum whether supporting the learning and welfare of younger students in programmes like the Paired Reading Scheme or the Pastoral Networkers, assisting in the running of extracurricular activities, representing the school in high profile events such as the Portico Library Awards, the recent Camps International Expedition to Equador and the Galapagos Islands, Model UN General Assemblies, Young Enterprise, Bar Mock Trial and achieving highly in national schools sports competitions.
"We know they will go on to achieve much more at university and in their careers and we wish them well in the exciting challenges and op¬portunities that life will bring.
"I am sure they will join me in expressing thanks for the continuing support of their parents and the hard work and commitment provided by school staff over their years of secondary education."
