Man rescued after unattended pan of food causes fire

Firefighters were called to a kitchen fire in Handforth early this morning.

Two fire engines attended the incident at Jubilee Court on Chelford Road just after 5am on Wednesday, 30th March.

Upon arrival they discovered a pan of food which had been left on a cooker in a flat on the sixth floor of the building.

One man was rescued by firefighters suffering from smoke inhalation. Paramedics attended to deal with the casualty.
