Cheshire East Council is proposing to ban parking on stretches of Buckingham Road and Altrincham Road at all times of day.
The Council is proposing to make an Order that will prohibit vehicles from waiting or parking on the western side of Buckingham Road, from a point 40 metres north of its junction with Chapel Lane for a distance of 42 metres, and on the eastern side from its junction with Altrincham Road for a distance of 16 metres.
Parking will be be also banned on the southern side of Altrincham Road from its junction with Buckingham Road for a distance of 10 metres in both a westerly and easterly direction.
Additionally, the Council is proposing to revoke the existing limited waiting restriction of "No Waiting, Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm" on the southern side of Moor Lane, from a point 22 metres west of its junction with Chapel Lane for a distance of 32 metres.
A spokesperson for Cheshire East Council said: "The proposal has been identified as a ward priority and relates to problems caused by parking along both sides of Buckingham Road at its junction with Altrincham Road and also the western side of Buckingham Road, opposite the builders' merchants.
"This parking results in a restricted passage for vehicles, leading to significant problems, particularly for traffic flow at peak times and problems of forward visibility.
"In addition the local Member has requested the removal of existing waiting restrictions (single-yellow lines) on Moor Lane and replacement with access protection markings, to prevent parking across driveways, in order to increase the on-street parking capacity."
A copy of the draft Order, map showing the restricted areas, a statement of the reasons for making the Order and a copy of the public notice can be examined during usual office hours at Wilmslow Library.
If you wish to object to the proposed Order, or any provisions contained within it, or make any other representations, you may do so in writing to Mr R Welch, Cheshire East Highways, 6th Floor, c/o Municipal Buildings, Earle Street, Crewe, CW1 2BJ by 12th March.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
This would be the same Moor Lane which the local bus often has difficulty in getting along at present- with the yellow lines in place? Without them, I dread to think.
Can we be told which "local member" (of CEC) this is? Presumably they are confident of getting this through quickly, as they might not be serving as a Councillor after the beginning of May? I believe that it is known as the "Menlove Strategem" in some quarters.
The problem on Chapel Lane has been the same for 40 years! Must we wait another 40 years ?
How on earth is this 'folly' of displacement parking being financed and prioritised above the many more pressing issues in this town. ?? .. Particularly when CEC are looking to 'focus on keeping costs down', Where is the Value for Money ? Who is Hoodwinking Who??
When is that election .......
