Puzzle Piece Opera is performing Cosi Fan Tutte in 50 minutes, at St Bartholomew's Church later this month.
Puzzle Piece is a student led opera company, whose aim is to bring opera to new audiences in contemporary settings. Jessica Thayer, who is a local Cheshire girl is both co-director and performer.
Clare Ramsden commented "If you are an opera buff who likes to see new productions or even someone who can just hum the theme tune to the 1990 world cup (Nessun Dorma) this production is for you."
Puzzle Piece's modern adaption of Mozart's Cosi Fan Tutte will be performed at 7.30pm on Tuesday 29th July at St Bartholomew's Church.
The company are bringing their 2014 summer production, direct from the Blackheath Opera Festival, to Wilmslow to raise funds for The Mary Wood Trust, a charity which supports Nyakabungo Girls Secondary School (NGSS) and Ruth Memorial Nursery School (RMNS), both in South West Uganda.
Over recent years the trust has funded the building of classrooms and provided general support at RMNS including, for example, funding daily porridge for the children. At NGSS, it has built dormitories, a sick bay and a female staff house, as well as committing to provide mosquito nets on an ongoing basis to all girls at the school and, at present, sponsoring 22 girls.
More information about the work of the charity can be found at www.marywoodtrust4uganda.org.
Tickets for this production can be obtained from Clare Ramsden on 01625 531233 or on the door at the price of £10 (£7.50 for concessions).
