Based at Wilmslow Parish Hall, Always Active Day Centres will provide a selection of activities, a chance to socialise and meet friends and a meal for older people.Staff and volunteers will organise different activities to suit and entertain the people who go there. These can include arts and crafts, cookery, gardening, sports and leisure, visits and trips, guest lectures and entertainments, hairdressing, podiatry, film club, photography and IT.

The Always Active Day Centre will open on Wednesday 21st May when they will be holding an afternoon tea in the company of the Mayor of Cheshire East Council from 1pm to 3pm at Wilmslow Parish Hall.

Always Active is a new business which has been nurtured by The Womens Organisation, a charity which encourages and supports women entrepreneurs in the Greater Manchester area.

Founder of Always Active Gina Jones said "We are proud to launch our new services in Wilmslow, and showcase the valuable work our skilled staff are offering to elderly and often vulnerable people in the local area. We hope anyone with an interest in the welfare of older people will stop by to see what we are about and of course enjoy afternoon tea.

"Following on from the events we are keen to link with local schools and colleges to further enable our service participants to widen their social network and to interact in a meaningful and positive way to dispel stereotyping and forge cross-generational friendships."
