Cheshire East Council and Riverside Housing have organised a range of Easter activities for children living in the Lacey Green, Colshaw Farm and Handforth areas, to help keep them entertained during the Easter holidays.

The events will take place on April 15th and 17th and are open to children from a range of age groups.

On Tuesday, 15th April, 6 to 10 year-olds can take part in a fun one day course to help them learn the basic cycling skills they need to achieve their level 1 Bikeability badge. They will also be shown how to be safe whilst scooting around. This Bikeability and Scooterability event will take place from 9.30am to 3pm at The Open Arms Youth Centre, Howty Close, Colshaw and it is essential that children have their own bike.

Also on April 15th, children from 0 to 4 years, accompanied by parents or a guardian, can go along to Handforth Youth Centre for a dance, move and play session. Then from 1pm to 2pm a creative street dance session will be held at Handforth Youth Centre for 10-16 year-olds.

10-16 year-olds can also get creative in the kitchen at an Easter Bake & Decorate session from 2pm to 4pm at Handforth Youth Centre.

Then on Thursday 17th April, there will also be a Easter Egg Treasure Hunt for children of all ages at The Open Arms Youth Centre from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Everyone will receive a treasure map which they need to follow, solve all the clues and return to receive some Easter treasure. Those taking part must return by 3.30pm to receive their prize and refreshments will be available on return.

Jennie Aincham, Colshaw Well Beings Project Manager, said "The Bikeability and Scooterability session costs £6, but is free to residents living in Lacey Green, Colshaw Farm and Handforth areas (with proof of address)."
