An elderly resident has become the victim of a bogus caller at her home on the Colshaw Estate.
The 86-year-old lady was approached by an older male on Monday, 13th May, who offered to carry out gardening work for £50.
He was due to mow the front and rear gardens and cut the bushes back, but only half of the front lawn was completed and the money was paid.
The offender is described as being plump with a local accent.
Historically, bogus callers, distraction burglars and rogue traders target the elderly, the vulnerable, and those living alone.
PCSO Rebecca Woolley said "We are asking residents to be vigilant with their neighbours if they are vulnerable or elderly, by keeping an eye on who calls at the address and offering to do odd jobs so that they are not tempted into accepting doorstep work."
If you notice anyone acting suspiciously contact Wilmslow Police on 101.
