Firefighters put out two fires at Lindow Moss yesterday.
Crews were called to the first fire off Moore Lane just before 8am on Tuesday, 7th May.
Due to the location of the fire the crew had to make their way approximately one mile across the Moss on foot.
They used beaters and water to put out the fire and to prevent it spreading.
Firefighters also attended to a peat fire on Lindow Moss later in the day.
They were called to a deep seated peat fire off Burleyhurst Lane just after 1pm yesterday.
Once in attendance crews found more than one seat of fire and established a hose line to the main seat of the fire. They then spent time damping down numerous small pockets of fire in the peat until it was all extinguished.
