A talented 16-year-old musician is coming to Wilmslow next month to perform a concert in aid of the charity Food Friend.
Esme Turner, Principal Flautist with the Cheshire Youth Orchestra, will be performing at Wilmslow Parish Hall on Saturday 9th March.
Whilst rehearsing for her Diploma exams recently, which she is awaiting the results of, Esme met professional pianist Tony Hughes and he and his duo partner, Wendy Dolby, will be joining Esme in the concert.
Speaking about their meeting, Tony said "'She is undoubtedly one of the most talented young musicians I have ever worked with and practices incredibly hard. As a result, her performances are fantastic."
The piano duo Dolby and Hughes played at both Alderley Edge Methodist Church and St Bartholomew's in Wilmslow in 2011 and are looking forward to returning to Wilmslow, following a season performing around the North West.
The concert, entitled 'An evening of Popular Classics for Flute and Piano' includes classics such as the Flight of the Bumblebee, Londonderry Air and the theme tune from Jonathan Creek. The programme is hugely varied and is designed to appeal whether you are a regular classic concert-goer or not.
The Food Friend charity supports families around Wilmslow who are struggling to feed their families by providing practical help. Money raised at the concert will help continue the charities work locally.
Tickets for the concert at Wilmslow Parish Hall are £7.50 (students £5). and can be purchased by calling 01625 522263 or visiting www.foodfriend.ticketsource.co.uk.
