Firefighters were called to a fire at Yaya Toure's house in Wilmslow on Thursday, 7th February.
Crews from Wilmslow, Macclesfield and Greater Manchester attended the incident at the Manchester City midfielder's home at 3.07pm.
The fire, in a first floor bathroom, is believed to have been caused by candles.
The gas and electricity supply were isolated and the fire was put out by four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus and using two hose reel jets.
A high pressure fan was used to ventilate smoke from the property.
An ambulance was called and one female was treated for possible smoke inhalation.
Update: 11th February 16.56 : A spokesperson from Manchester City Football Club has confirmed that Yaya Toure was not at home at the time of the fire and nobody was hurt.
