Really wild visitor heads to Handforth

NB

After successful sold-out visits by TV wildlife stars Chris Packham and Simon King last year, Cheshire Wildlife Trust is welcoming Discovery Channel's Nick Baker to Handforth this March.

In a twist to previous events, Nick – who found fame on the children's BBC series 'The Really Wild Show' – will focus on youngsters and families for a special evening on March 14th at the Hallmark Hotel.

He will revisit his Discovery Channel show 'Weird Creatures', looking at the planet's unusual animals, with the help of stunning video and photographs, and will also be on hand on answer wildlife questions from younger members of the audience.

A lifelong wildlife-lover, Nick is considered to be one of the UK's most exciting and passionate all-round naturalists, and his TV shows have covered creatures as varied as sharks, polar bears, insects and even pets.

He has been involved with the Wildlife Trusts UK youth section since 2005, and regularly appears on the live BBC wildlife series Autumnwatch and Springwatch as a guest presenter.

Tom Marshall from the Cheshire Wildlife Trust said: "We're delighted Nick is joining us and we know it'll be a fantastic night from start to finish with Nick's endless enthusiasm for all things wild and his ability to bring youngsters right into the heart of what he's talking about.

"He'll take us all over the world during this special evening, but bring it right back to our doorstep with the weird creatures that we can find at home too."

Adult tickets are £15 with children just £5 and family package tickets available too. The event will start at 7pm with the main evening finishing approximately 8.30pm.
