Wilmslow Town Council has decided to purchase additional planters for flowers to brighten up the town centre.

Councillors agreed at this week's meeting to allocate up to £10,000 from this year's contingency budget to enable them purchase floor standing planters, similar to the ones currently located on Grove Street.

Suggested sites for these new planters include the wide pavements on Water Lane and close to Hoopers.

Additionally barrier planters will be purchased to brighten and enhance the railings by the entrance to the Leisure Centre, at The Bollin Fee junction and by the roundabout on the A34 by the Ford garage.

Cllr Jim Crockett, Chairman of WIlmslow Town Council, also requested that some planters are purchased for the railings near the railway bridge on Macclesfield Road, which he described as "a very drab entrance to Wilmslow."
