Parents tackle three peaks to support local schools

Next month over forty local parents and friends will be will be undertaking the National Three Peaks Challenge to raise funds for Wilmslow schools.

The walkers will attempt the self-funded endurance task of climbing the highest mountain in Scotland, England and Wales in just 24 hours to raise money for Ashdene, Lindow and Gorsey Bank primary schools.

On July 7th and 8th the group will aim to scale Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Mount Snowdon to raise money for the schools as well as a nominated charity or cause.

Ashdene will support ActionAid, Gorsey Bank are supporting the Seashell Trust and Lindow School are raising money for their own hearing impaired unit.

Organiser Neil Hughes will be taking part of behalf of Ashdene Primary School. He said "We are aiming to raise around £4000, the money raised will be split equally between ActionAid and Ashdene PTA.

"ActionAid work wherever there is poverty and injustice, in over 40 countries in Africa, Asia and the Americas, to help people free themselves from poverty, Whether they are building a well, hiring a teacher, or lobbying a government, they make sure that every pound they spend goes as far as possible.

"Please help us to make our schools even more fabulous by supporting the teams in achieving our fundraising goal."
