Cheshire Police are warning residents in the Wilmslow area after an elderly resident was approached by a company trying to sell her windows for £3000.
The distraught lady from Lacey Green contacted police after she received a visit from a company who were trying to sell her new windows for extortionate prices.
The resident said that the representative initially asked her for £399 in cash, which she resident didn't have in the house. The salesman then offered to take her to the bank to withdraw this money from her account, changing his quoted amount to £3000. Luckily, this resident was wise enough to stall the salesman and contacted Cheshire Police.
PCSO Sarah Stanley advises residents in the area to be mindful of such companies if anyone calls at their home selling products.
She said "Remember to always check for ID and if you are unsure don't let them in. Call Cheshire Police on 101 if you have any persons doing the same or similar things so we can stop them before they do take some ones money."
