Fairies and swamp monsters, talking trees and butter-fingered birds all came together last Sunday in St Anne’s all age Panto.
Now a firm fixture on the New Year calendar, this year’s performance was bigger than ever. A cast ranging in ages from 6 to 60, with an even wider audience, necessitated a move across the road from the church hall, to take advantage of the kind hospitality of St Anne’s School.
Superb comic timing from Jester (Chris Murray) and the King (Mike Garside) ensured laughter filled performances, enhanced by solos from Anna Bower and Christina Theobald.
Rescuing The Sleeping Beauty (Bethany Lewis) from the clutches of the evil Nightshade (Ralph Sibley) was no mean feat, but the Handsome Price (Ella Langham) won through, and of course, in best pantomime tradition, they all lived happily ever after.
