An elderly woman has died after a fatal house fire in Handforth.
Firefighters were called to the incident at a terraced property on Davenham Road at 11am on Wednesday, 18th January.
The elderly woman was confirmed dead at the scene. It is believed she had caught alight after falling into her fire.
A fire investigation was carried out and is now complete. Police are awaiting the outcome of the post mortem, but this is being treated as a tragic accident rather than suspicious. Police will be handing over a file of evidence to the Cheshire coroner.
