Have your say on the future of Wilmslow

Cheshire East Council is undertaking the next stage of consultation on the Local Development Framework, called the 'Place Shaping' consultation.

Between now and September, the local authority's spatial planning team will be working with the people of Cheshire East to look at the issues and challenges facing town and village communities. The aim is to find out how people think the towns and villages should look in the future, so this is your chance to have your say.

Cheshire East is holding a consultation event, covering Handforth, Wilmslow, Macclesfield, Poynton, Knutsford and the surrounding areas, at the Assembly Rooms in Macclesfield from 6.30pm to 8.30pm on Tuesday, July 5th.

Email to register for the workshop, or ring 01270 685893 with your name, the town that you want to talk about and the venue and date of the event that you would like to attend.

The deadline for registering is Monday July 4th, 2011.

There will also be exhibitions at Wilmslow Library on Tuesday 6th September, 10 to 4pm, and Handforth Library on Tuesday 13th September, 10 to 4pm, where members of the public can talk to Cheshire East about the future planning of Wilmslow and Handforth.

Councillor David Brown, Cabinet member with responsibility for performance and capacity said: "I would encourage as many people as possible to get involved in this process and have their say on the future of their communities.

"This plan will determine our development over the next 20 years so it is vital that we have as much public input as possible."
