Plans have been submitted for a new apartment block in Wilmslow.

Oaklyn Construction Ltd have applied for planning permission for the construction of three apartments with associated landscaping at Bryancliffe on Wilmslow Park South.

In June 2011 plans to demolish the existing building and erect a two-and-a-half-storey, six bedroom detached dwelling were approved. Prior to this, planning permission to demolish the existing dwelling and construct three apartments, with undercroft parking was granted in February 2008, however this planning permission was later quashed by the High Court in June 2009. During the period between the granting and the quashing of permission, the former owner had already demolished the existing large single dwelling.

This planning permission is a revision of a scheme which was originally proposed in 2023. The initial proposal included a detached building containing three apartments, along with a detached dwelling at the rear. The apartment building is accessed from Wilmslow Park South, while the dwelling at the rear of the site is accessed from Fulmards Close. A basement linked the two buildings below ground, providing car parking and access to the lower floor of the dwelling.

Following pre-application feedback in November 2024, the scheme has been revised. The updated apartment is now accessed exclusively from Wilmslow Park Road. The rear dwelling proposed in the initial design, along with the undercroft parking, have been removed, and eight parking spaces have been repositioned around the expanded driveway.

The revised scheme also includes a reduced ridge height, lower eaves, and a steeper roof pitch with the second-floor windows integrated into the roof via flat-roofed dormers.

The plans can be viewed on the Cheshire East Planning Portal by searching for reference 25/1985/FUL.
