Cheshire East Council is announcing new library opening hours in the area which will come into effect from Wednesday, June 1st.

Cheshire East Councillor David Brown, Cabinet member with responsibility for performance and capacity, said: "We want to make sure our libraries are accessible to everyone. Many areas will now see their libraries open earlier and for longer. The majority of Cheshire East's libraries will now be open on a Wednesday. I am hopeful these new opening hours will be to the satisfaction of our many library users."

The new library opening times in Wilmslow are:

Monday and Thursday – 9am until 7pm

Tuesday and Friday – 9am until 5pm

Wednesday and Saturday – 9am and 1pm

The total number of hours remain the same, with an earlier opening time.

The Council runs 21 libraries and last year statistics, collated by the Chartered Institute of Public Finance & Accountability, revealed that the Council lent 2,913,226 items – more than any other unitary authority in the country.
