Community service team clean up underpass

Wilmslow has benefited from the work that Community Service offers because a team of offenders recently painted the underpass by the railway line.

The work to remove the graffiti was carried out on Sunday, May 22nd, by twelve men who are currently on probation. The paint, rollers, brushes and trays were all supplied by Cheshire East Council and the work was carried out free of charge by probation services.

Wesley Hutton, Team Leader at Cheshire East Council, said "They managed to do the job in four hours, giving the entire underpass two coats. I will keep a close eye on the area to see if it becomes a problem again.

"I will also be involving them more now within the Wilmslow area, as the photos speak for themselves what a wonderful job they have done."

Community Service orders provide unpaid work for offenders, which is of value to the community and an alternative to custody.
