Chancellor visits Colshaw Farm

During a visit to his Tatton Constituency on Friday, Chancellor George Osborne was taken on a tour of the Colshaw Farm estate which he had first visited more than 5 years ago.

Mr Osborne said "It was great to see the transformation and the improvements made by Riverside Housing. The tenants clearly care about the area, many of the gardens were beautifully planted and cared for, the public areas were neat and clean. I visited one of the tenants and saw the improvements made by Riverside to her home."

Jane Keegan from Riverside Housing Trust said "We were encouraged by George's visit and spent a pleasant afternoon touring the estate and showing George what can be achieved with great effort from interested parties. We were honoured that George took time out of his very busy schedule to visit us."

George Osborne also took the time to visit Lime Tree Court, which provides accommodation for single homeless men and women, where he spoke to the residents and support workers. He said "I applaud the work which is being done to help these vulnerable people to prepare them to move on to independent living."
