Firefighters were called to a car fire on Newton Road early this morning (Sunday, 5th January).
One fire engine from Wilmslow attended the incident just after 6am.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used hose reel water jets to extinguish the fire and specialist equipment was also deployed to prevent fuel leaking into a drain.
A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said "It is believed the fire was started deliberately. Police were also at the scene."
