A new Pan Asian restaurant opened its doors on Monday, 9th December, at 7 London Road which has been vacant for long periods in recent years.
The premises were most recently occupied by Dizzy Dough, which closed in November 2023, and prior to that by Les Deux pizza restaurant and The Railway Cafe, which served Indian-inspired dishes.
Peppery Rose offers dishes inspired by Japanese, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese and Taiwanese cuisines including ribs from Taiwan, teriyaki dishes from Japan, crispy Korean chicken as well as sushi, noodles, poke bowls, bao buns, curries and dishes with their Himalayan salt and peppery signature seasoning of pink salt and over 12 herbs and spices and rose petal.
Owner Aric Leung previously owned three Peking Gardens restaurants in Wilmslow, Poynton and Bramhall which he sold two years ago in order to spend more time with his family
He told me "I found the Chinese menu restricted and boring. I wasn't finding it challenging any more. I have spent a lot of time at home with my two girls for the last year and a half but I felt I had something left in me.
" My uncle owned Alderley Rose. We looked at the premises but it wasn't right for us then the agent showed us this property.
"That's why we called it Peppery Rose and also one of daughters is called Rosie. We also use a lot of rose - in both the dishes and also rose syrup in the cocktails and our signature dishes are around pepper."
Peppery Rose will be open from 4pm to 9.30pm Monday to Thursday, until 10pm on Friday, 1pm to 10pm and 1pm to 9pm on Sundays. Weekends are family days with half price food for children on Saturdays and Family Bento boxes for to share on Sundays.
They also offer a takeaway and delivery service.
