Wilmslow teen arrested arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury

A teenager from Wilmslow was arrested following a crash in Holmes Chapel on Sunday 11th August.

A police spokesperson said "At around 10.04pm on Sunday 11 August, police responded to an incident in Holmes Chapel.

"Attending the scene on Twemlow Lane, Holmes Chapel, officers found that a road traffic collision had occurred between a black Audi A1 and a black Yamaha YZF 600 motorcycle.

"The rider of the bike, a 33-year-old man from Warrington, sustained serious injuries and was taken to North Staffordshire Hospital for further treatment, where he remains at this time.

"His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, but potentially life changing.

"The driver of the Audi, a 19-year-old man from Wilmslow, was taken to Macclesfield Hospital as a precaution and has since been discharged.

"He has since been arrested on suspicion of drug driving and causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

"Officers closed the road during the incident, with it being reopened at around 4.45am on Monday 12 August.
