CETRA (Colshaw Estate Tenant and Resident Association) has received a Wilmslow Town Council Green Community Fund award of £500 towards the costs of purchasing bulbs to be planted around the Colshaw estate.
CETRA is a voluntary community group for Colshaw Estate residents, existing to be a voice for the community and do what they can to improve the local area for the benefit of all residents.
The Green Community Fund award will be used to purchase native Bluebells and Wild Garlic bulbs to plant in the Colshaw Valley area to enhance the natural beauty and make it an enjoyable outdoor space.
CETRA is also planning other projects around the estate with the hope of allowing people of all ages to get outdoors and enjoy the green spaces.
Councillor Tim Higgins, Town Mayor, said, "Wilmslow Town Council is pleased to provide funding towards CETRA's project to improve the green areas of Colshaw. We thank all the volunteers involved for their work, and look forward to seeing the plans taking shape.
"Wilmslow Town Council encourage any community groups who are considering projects that promote sustainable spaces, biodiversity conservation and 'Greening' areas to look at the grant criteria on our website to see if they are eligible."
