Police closed a section of the A34 in both directions for just over an hour this morning, Wednesday, 5th June, after concerns about a man on a bridge.
The incident happened just after 8am near Handforth. between the Handforth Dean and Dean Row roundabouts.
A police spokesperson said "Officers restrained him and he has gone to hospital to be assessed. Road reopened about 9.15am."
