A former pupil returned to his primary school to help secure the trophy at an inter-school tournament in Wilmslow.
Zach Harris, a past pupil of The Wilmslow Academy (TWA), and now an A Level student at Wilmslow High School, has been coaching and managing the school team, in his role as a part-time coach with local sports coaching company Premier Football Coaching (PFC).
Alexandra Clarke, PFC Director, said "The competitive group of The Wilmslow Academy, St Benedicts, St Annes, Styal, Gorsey bank and Nether Alderley ensured an afternoon of excellent football and teamwork, cumulating in a Lindow v The Wilmslow Academy final!
"After going 2-0 down within the first few minutes against an excellent Lindow team, The Wilmslow Academy dug deep with every player working hard to attack and defend, and were rewarded by 2
great goals, including a header from a superb cross. As the final whistle blew, a 2-2 score line meant it was on to penalties!
"With both sides scoring the first three it was sad to see Lindow miss a fourth, giving The Wilmslow Academy the opportunity they needed and they took it with a brilliantly taken penalty, which gave the keeper no chance!"
Charlotte Clowes, Principal at the Wilmslow Academy "We are thrilled to bits with the score; it truly is a celebration of a great season for Wilmslow Academy football. Zach from PFC has worked so hard and his enthusiasm and passion for the game and school sports has rubbed off on us all, especially the children. We are so grateful to Zach and all at PFC and very proud of our wonderful children!"
