A council review has taken place of one of the borough's newest bus service.

The No 312 between Wilmslow and Handforth Dean, operated by D and G Buses, will now be rerouted via the Lacey Green estate. The service was introduced using Section106 funding from local developments to support infrastructure and local services.

A spokesperson for Cheshire East Council said "It's hoped this variation to the route will meet with the approval of residents who've called for the service to operate through the estate, allowing more journey opportunities.

"Passenger use will be monitored for up to two years to assess the popularity of the service and inform a decision on the new route's long term sustainability."

The 312 runs between Wilmslow Station and Handforth Dean on an hourly basis stopping at Bank Square, Lacey Green (outside the shops) and Handforth Paddock.

This is great news, residents of Lacey Green have been without a bus service for some time.
I hope there's going to be more publicity for this service other than on here otherwise people won't know about it.
My only concern is when it gets to winter are the roads on Lacey Green gritted? if not I can see problems with this service as a result.

Terence on your point when I was on the town council for the Lacy Green ward, I took to the council that we should fund gritting of what was the old bus route. Which was supported by everyone in that council meeting. The reason Cheshire east had decided to stop gritting it was that no buses followed that route any more it didn’t fall under their criteria. The town council committed to fund it for 3 winters last winter being the first. So it should be gritted for the next two but also Cheshire east should be finding it again moving forward.

Thank You so much as one of the carers for my Elderly Mother who lives in Handforth, I am now able to travel more times a week between Lacey Green and Handforth without the cost of a Taxi each time. However, there needs to be something done about the parking on Barlow Road as sometimes the bus is unable to get down.
