At around 12.10am on Wednesday, 14th May, police stopped a blue Seat Leon on Melrose Way, Wilmslow.
The driver of the car, a 26-year-old man from Birmingham, was arrested on suspicion of drug driving after testing positive for cannabis.
He has since been released under investigation pending further enquiries.
Three passengers from the vehicle were also issued with community resolutions after they were found in possession of a small amount of cannabis.
