Town Council sponsors 109th Wilmslow Community Show

Wilmslow Community Show 2023

Wilmslow Town Council has agreed to sponsor this year's Wilmslow Community Show, with a grant of £10,000.

The Wilmslow Community Show takes place on Sunday 2nd July at Wilmslow Carnival Field.

Organised by volunteers, the Show is one of the largest community events in Wilmslow and aims to offer entertainment and interest for visitors of all ages.

This year's show will include a funfair, free donkey rides, a bandstand and 4-legged arena. Organisers are also welcoming the return of the Car Show, Cookery marquee and 'Art Under Canvas' marquee.

The grant from Wilmslow Town Council will fund free stalls given to community groups and charities to showcase or raise money for their group.

The funding will also pay for some children's activities, allowing them to be free to do, in addition to covering the security costs of the event, and part-funding the field hire and shuttle bus from Wilmslow town centre.

Wilmslow Town Council Chairman, Jon Newell, said of the grant, "Wilmslow Town Council is delighted to provide a grant to the Wilmslow Community Show and to help facilitate a number of our community groups to take an active part."
