Great Warford Residents Group have complained to Cheshire East about the planned closure, for seven days, of Knutsford Road at Chorley.
Residents normal route into Alderley Edge, Wilmslow and beyond is via the Chelford Road which is already closed and will be for a number of weeks.
Currently residents have to detour via Knutsford Road, however with this route also closed there are few alternatives.
Cheshire East have been asked to postpone the roadworks on Knutsford road until Chelford Road reopens.

Here's what readers have had to say so far. Why not add your thoughts below.
Knutsford Road was closed on 22nd October on behalf of Electricity Northwest, who manage our electricity network.
Some utility companies have separate road closure teams to their works teams, so you may have been there in the time gap between the two.
Alternatively, they could have been working on a nearby electrical mast. The risk of live electric cables falling on passing traffic means roads are closed for health & safety reasons and not to conduct road works.
Utilities companies have a legal right to close roads and Cheshire East does negotiate with them to ensure they conduct their work in a timely manner. However, we cannot be everywhere, all the time and sometimes they do cause unnecessary delays to road users.
Sometimes though, it is because the essential work they are doing is just not that obvious.

There appears to be a complete failure in coordination of works and consideration for the needs of road users.
