Now in its 12th year, all monies raised will go to mental health in the community and other charities.

The festival ends on Saturday 2nd July, then the scarecrows can be taken to the Wilmslow Show which take place at on the Sunday, 3rd July.

Prizes will be awarded for creativity with the overall winner being presented with the Wilmslow and District Rotary Scarecrow Cup. In addition, the best school entry will receive a Scarecrow Cup.

Sue Worthington, President Wilmslow and District Rotary said "Whether you are a business or a private individual, please build a scarecrow and display it outside your business or your home and let us bring some cheer to Wilmslow and the surrounding districts of Handforth, Alderley Edge, and Wilmslow Dean.

"Ask friends, family and colleagues to sponsor your scarecrow! Wilmslow and District Rotary make it easy to get your scarecrow sponsored and raise much-needed funds for mental health and other Rotary charities."
